Our year-round Dog Hikes are guaranteed to give your pup the exercise and socialization needed to have a happy and healthy pup each and every day!
A typical day will consist of a pick up where upon arrival we greet with healthy, delicious treats. From there we make our rounds and dependent on weather forecast we will choose from a variety of Boulder's beautiful trails. On sunny days we stick to trails with some shade. On cloudy days we set off to enjoy the beautiful mountain vistas. During fall and winter we take advantage of seasonal low traffic trails and go for a challenge on some of the tougher single track trails through the mountains. Every day is different, leaving a new adventure to be found!
Throughout our hikes we keep a steady supply of water and bowls making hydration a priority. Potty and water breaks are always planned based on the trail of the day. We set a steady pace to give your dog the exercise it needs while also ensuring no one dog is over worked. We utilized our special quick detach harness system to guarantee all dogs are always under our control. We offer up to 2 dogs with sight and sound tags off leash on designated sight and sound trails and rotate between those with tags throughout the entirety of our hike. On top of off leash hiking, we supply e-collars with a vibration paging option for recalls on our off leash dogs that are accustomed to its use.
Included with our harness system, we carry a medical pouch with all the supplies needed to give the best chance of survival in the event of a medical emergency. We are equipped and certified with the latest technology and education to help our animals and others in all possible scenarios. Rock Paw believes in preparing with a plan of action for each possible scenario and will always do our best in the prevention of these cases.
After completion of our hike, we conduct a 3 point check on all our animals. Starting with a hydration test of their gums, followed by a check of the pads on their feet for any tears, and lastly, dirt and mud check with a quick drying or cleaning. From there, we head back to your home, refill water and crate your pooch if needed. By that time your fur baby will be worn out enough to stay calm and cool for your arrival back home. But beware, our group dogs become eager in anticipation each morning for a new adventure!
Rock Paw will do a preliminary interview and evaluation to ensure your pup will fit in with our groups at no cost. Schedule your first Hike & Interview while spots are still available!
